The Sparrow Schools Foundation was set up in the UK on 29th August 2000 to give financial and other help to Sparrow Schools in South Africa and to foster cultural links between students and children in the UK.
The Foundation promotes the Educate-a-Child programme which finds sponsors who will give financial support to students at Sparrow, and raises money to fund school facilities and specialist teachers. It provides teaching back-up in the form of experienced and graduate volunteers.
Sport, choir and drama tours to the UK enrich the experience of the children and their hosts. Over the years a close relationship has built up between the teachers and pupils at Sparrow Schools and the many people in the UK who have met, heard and read about them.
